Growing Strong in Christ

DSCF4452.1

To grow strong in Christ, this is what we wish for ourselves and for our children. For when we are strong in Christ then we have nothing to fear. Just as Paul says in Philippians 4 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” When we are strong in Christ nothing can ever take away from us His love and His gifts, again in the beautiful words of Paul, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39

But how exactly do we grow strong in Christ and how do we teach this to our children? The bible makes it clear that we learn the ways of the Lord through His word. This is what we are to teach our children though our actions and through our instructions.

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 & “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6.

This is what we seek to do at Castillo Fuerte teach the children of Lima the way of the Lord which is Jesus Christ, who said “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Through our actions of play, hugs, jokes, giving food and helping with homework we show forth the mercy and love of our Savior. Through vacation bible schools, bible stories, prayers and our words we teach the way of the Lord and the love of our Savior.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the following video and some of my photos from a recent Vacation Bible School held at the mercy house.
